SMITHERS — The BC Prosecution Service announced today (Sept.20) that the sentence hearing for former Burns Lake mayor Luke Strimbold set for this Monday (Sept.23) has been postponed to accommodate court scheduling issues.

An appearance will be made by counsel on September 23 to set the new date for the sentencing hearing.

Strimbold pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual assault against four individuals on May 6.

He had faced 29 charges including sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching involving boys under the age of 16, stemming from alleged incidents from May 2009 to July 2017.
