WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Police in Williams Lake say two people have been arrested after allegedly breaking into a home.

Williams Lake RCMP Const. Joel Kooger says in a news release that officers attended an address on Johnson Street early Saturday morning (Nov. 9), after the homeowner reported two people had broken into their house.

Police arrived and arrested two people who were found in the home, along with stolen property they were allegedly gathering, Kooger says.

Police say there were no signs of forced entry into the home because the thieves had allegedly gained access by using the house keys — which had been stolen by breaking into the homeowner’s vehicle the night prior.

“Through the proficient and effective work of Williams Lake Frontline officers, charges have been forwarded and approved by Crown Counsel,” Kooger says.

Jamie Haller and Dakota Jack are facing charges of break and enter into a residence to commit an indictable offence.

Williams Lake RCMP are urging residents to lock all doors and secure all valuables in a safe place.
