IWD cheques presented

PRINCE GEORGE – Bernie Gould of the St. Vincent de Paul Society UNBC Researcher Dr. Jacqueline Pettersen are the two recipients of nearly a thousand dollars apiece, courtesy Prince George-Valemount MLA Shirley Bond.

For the past several years, on International Women’s Day, Bond hosts a breakfast and invites women who have inspiring stories to speak.

“One of the things in my job is I get to meet incredible people all around the community and the region. And there are so many stories that go untold. People who do incredible things and don’t want any credit for it. They just quietly go about their work.”

The funds raised at the event go to a different organization each year.
