UHNBC worker thinks PG can take global movement one step further
PRINCE GEORGE — In recent weeks, there has been plenty of support shown for those working against COVID-19 on the front lines. At 7 o’clock each and every night, people go out on their front lawns and doorsteps to make noise showing appreciation of those front line workers. That trend has hit Prince George.
But Dawn Dunbar, a UHNBC housekeeper, says Prince George is a community that always goes above and beyond. She thinks the show of appreciation can go even further.
“I’m thinking during the course of the day, if you are driving by any healthcare establishment, pharmacy, hospital, long-term care, give a quick little honk of your horn,” Dunbar said. “Because we run 24/7 and not everybody is going to be hearing all of the support [at 7pm] that Prince George is giving them.”
It also coincides with social distancing. Many feel cooped up in their homes with not a lot of options to go be out in the community, this offers a solution. Dunbar adds support should be shown for all first responders and a quick honk when you see anyone with the RCMP, fire rescue, or health services goes a long way to showing appreciation.
