Don’t for get your self-care!

I am sure many of us might be feeling a little blue after being house bound all day but something as simple as maintaining your self-care can help keep your spirits up.

Self-care is defined as “the practice of taking action to preserve or improve ones own health,” according to LEXICO online dictionary.

One local says that it is important to not neglect our self-care routines, especially during this time.

“In times of fear, we need routine and we really need to be practicing that self-care.”— Mary Lu Spagrud, Manager of Education and Projects Canadian Mental Health Association Prince George.

Things such as getting dressed, exercising or learning a new skill can help keep us sane during times such as these.

Spagrud points out that people have started initiatives and or changed the way they provide a specific service in order to continue to stimulate the minds of locals.

“Watts Art Academy is doing virtual online classes, All About Coffee and Food she’s doing virtual online classes.”— Mary Lu Spagrud

Spagrud suggests starting on your at home to-do list, limiting your intake of news—while still keeping up to date and remembering that although we are physically disconnected from loved ones, the internet is at our disposal and can help in keeping us connected virtually.
