Kings face challenges due to Covid-19

The Spruce Kings are well known for what they do on the ice but during the off-season it is all business off of it.

In that regard, the Kings are no different than any other business in the community, and as a result, they are facing some challenges during the current Covid-19 pandemic.

Right now on the business side of things, the Kings are trying to get everything ready for the 2020-2021 season.

This includes sponsorship plans and season ticket renewals.

However, with the current circumstances, that is proving to be difficult for the club as they aren’t 100% sure when the 2020-2021 season will actually begin.

The BCHL has put together an extensive plan for all of the league’s clubs when it comes to how they approach the off-season and for the teams, it’s all about supporting their sponsors in the community and helping where they can.

For the Kings, the question is how will the current Covid-19 pandemic affect them financially. As of right now, it is too early to tell.

The club is currently holding its annual Show home lottery which is their biggest fundraiser of the season and how that fundraiser does will help determine how the Kings will be financially for the 2020-2021 season.
