UPDATE: No new cases of COVID-19 in Northern Health, 2 deaths in B.C.

VICTORIA—No new cases of COVID-19 in the Northern Health Region were announced today.

The number of cases in the north remains at 46. Provincially, 25 new cases were announced.

Cases by Health Region:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 815
  • Fraser Health: 961
  • Vancouver Island Health: 120
  • Interior Health: 170
  • Northern Health: 46

Two deaths were announced today as well, one was a senior at a long-term care facility and the second was in the Vancouver Coastal Health Region.

Currently there are 24 outbreaks at long-term care facilities in the province, no new ones were announced today. That includes 256 residents and 153 staff members.

Ongoing investigations into several community outbreaks are underway.

The Mission Federal Correctional Facility now has 120 cases as 12 new inmates have tested positive for the virus.

Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry mentioned that today marks the 100th day since the very first provincial statement they released as the realization of COVID-19 posing a larger concern to British Columbians was realized.

New modelling updates will be provided to the public soon.

Henry mentioned that Premier Horgan will speak to the province’s “go forward” plan, next week.

1,322 people have recovered from COVID-19 in B.C. The total number of provincial cases is now at 2,112.
