Prince George welcomes North District Major Crime Unit’s newest addition

PRINCE GEORGE— There is a new head of the RCMP’s North District Major Crime Unit.

Insp. Lorne Wood, is making his way north, after being part of the Merritt RCMP detachment since 2018. Prior to Wood’s time in Merritt he spent time in Kamloops, as the head of the Major Crime Unit there.

Staff Sgt. Maj. Stephan Drouin will replace Wood in Merritt.

According to RCMP Southeast District spokesman Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey, Drouin is a veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy who served in theatres around the world before joining the Mounties.
