Former inmate files lawsuit against two correctional officers

A former B-C inmate has filed a lawsuit against two correctional officers alleging they ignored calls to help a fellow inmate who went into distress in 2018.
George Hansen alleges he suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, flashbacks and depression after the incident occurred during transport out of Prince George in October 2018.
Hansen’s suit says an inmate went into distress during a prisoner transport but despite other inmates pounding on the walls and shouting, the officers didn’t respond.
The lawsuit that also names the B-C government says by the time the officers pulled over, the inmate was unresponsive and died.
