Drug bust in Fort St. James

FORT ST. JAMES — A 36-year-old man was arrested in Fort St. James for allegedly trafficking drugs.

North District RCMP Cpl.Madonna Saunderson says on Wednesday June 17, the Fort St. James RCMP were called to Spirit Square in the 300 block of Stuart Drive West for a suspected assault. She says a 36 year-old male was arrested.

“During the initial investigation, police seized a quantity of suspected methamphetamine ands a quantity of cash,” she says. “On Saturday June 20, the Fort St. James RCMP received a tip the same 36-year-old male was in the same area and allegedly trafficking drugs.”

Saunderson says police located the man and seized suspected crack cocaine. The man was then arrested, taken into custody and later released.
