10 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C., one additional death

VICTORIA–A total of ten new cases of COVID-19 were reported in today’s joint statement by B.C.’s Provincial Health Officer, and Minister of Health.

None of the new cases were in the Northern Health region, the north remaining at 65 test positive cases for yet another day.

Cases by Health Region:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 969
  • Fraser Coastal Health: 1,514
  • Vancouver Island Health: 131
  • Interior Health: 199
  • Northern Health: 65

B.C.’s total of test-positive cases is now at 2,878 cases–this includes a data correction of one case from yesterday’s report. At the moment there are 159 active cases in the province, with 17 people in hospital, of those five are in ICU.

One new death was reported in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, bringing the provincial death toll to 174.

No new community or health care outbreaks have been reported. 2,545 people have recovered from COVID-19.
