Wildfire burning northeast of Clinton near Hwy 97

CLINTON—The BC Wildfire Service has confirmed a wildfire burning 8 kilometres north-east of Clinton and west of Highway 97.
The fire is believed to have been started by lightning in the area and was discovered yesterday (Aug.5) afternoon. The BC Wildfire Service says that 0.93 hectare fire has been deemed under control.
There are currently 21 fire fighters on scene along with the support of a water tender.
The BC Wildfire Service says that there are no structures being threatened by the fire. For updates on wildfires across the province click here.
