Drug bust leads to three arrests, including two Priority Offenders

PRINCE GEORGE—Three people were arrested and charged in relation to a drug bust on August 9, two of those arrested are identified as Priority Offenders by local RCMP.

Prince George RCMP say that their Street Crew Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence located on Kenwood Street in Prince George on Sunday, August 9.

Two men and one woman were in the home at the time and were arrested as part of the investigation. RCMP discovered a significant amount of fentanyl, cocaine and cash, along with a loaded handgun, shotgun and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

22-year-old Damiond Rain Sutherland, 40-year-old Angeline Louise Hammerstrom and 29-year-old Colin Michaud Durrand, all of Prince George have been charged by the BC Prosecution Service with Failing to Comply with a Release Order in relation to previous, but separate incidents.

Durrand was also arrested for having several outstanding arrest warrants stemming from nine separate incidences that occurred since July 2019. Sutherland was held in custody and is set to appear in court today (Aug.11). Hammerstrom and Durrand have been held in custody and are both scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Aug.18.

Prince George RCMP say that both Hammerstrom and Durrand have a history of violence and are Priority Offenders for local RCMP. The drug trafficking investigation is continuing and once completed will be disclosed to the Federal Prosecution Service of Canada for charge assessment.
