EARLIER: Local RCMP responded to a call of a traffic hazard on Hwy.16 this afternoon (Oct.1).

A release by Prince George RCMP says that frontline officers attended the scene on Hwy.16 and Ferry Ave., just after 1:30 p.m.and found that a tractor-trailer lost its back axels at the intersection.
Traffic in the area is down to a single-lane moving westbound. RCMP say that clean up is expected to take hours, and that drivers are asked to avoid the area. No injuries have been reported.
