Highway 16 reopens following head-on crash

PRINCE GEORGE –Updated –According to Drive BC, Highway 16 is now clear,however ,no more information regarding the crash has been released.

Update at 8:22 PM — According to Drive BC, Highway 16 has reopened to single-lane alternating traffic.

No more information regarding the crash has been released.

Update at 3:00 PM – DriveBC is estimating the impacted area of Highway 16 will re-open at 11:30 PM on Sunday.

Currently, there is no detour available.

Original Article 12:00 PM – CKPGToday has received reports of a head-on collision involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle approximately 23 kilometres east of Prince George, between Upper Fraser Rd and Willow River Rest Area (1 km west of Tabor Mountain), along Highway 16.

According to an individual at the scene, the highway has closed to traffic heading in both directions.

Emergency crews are attending to the scene.

According to Drive BC, estimated time for the highway to re-open is not yet available. At the moment, there is no detour route available.
