Part of Hwy.97 closed after semi-truck flips, one person in hospital

WILLIAMS LAKE—UPDATE (2:02 p.m., Oct.5): DriveBC is now reporting that single lane alternating traffic is in effect on Hwy.97 and Williams Lake Cut-Off Rd.

EARLIER: Part of Hwy.97 is closed to traffic after a single-vehicle crash this morning.

North District RCMP say they received a report this morning at around 10:30 a.m. of a semi-truck that had flipped over on Hwy.97, just south of Soda Creek, B.C.

Police say that one person sustained injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment.

DriveBC’s latest update says that the incident at Williams Lake Cut-off road (19 km north of Wildwood) is closed in both directions and that there is no detour available at this time.
