Operation Red Nose cancelling service this holiday season

PRINCE GEORGE — Operation Red Nose is the latest casualty of COVID-19.

Organizers say the pandemic means the annual safe ride service for the holidays won’t operate this holiday season.

“Given the current public health situation and considering logistical impacts, Operation Red Nose has decided not to provide its safe ride service nationally, which includes our region,” reads a press release.

“The safety of our volunteers, clients, and local host organizations has always been one of our top priorities. The decision was made after long and careful consideration, and not without emotion. We remain positive initiatives will be possible this holiday season. In the meantime, we want to remind everyone to always plan ahead for a safe way to get home.”
