Road rehab wrapping up

PRINCE GEORGE—City crews have begun their final paving operations for road and sidewalk rehabilitation projects in the city.

Work on Avison Place from Davis Rd. to the end of the street and on Davis Rd. from Ospika Blvd. to Barnes Dr. are expected to be complete by mid-October, depending on weather conditions.

Sidewalk work is underway on Highland Dr. from Glenngarry Rd. to Vellencher Rd., both of those projects are expected to be completed by mid-October as well.

This year’s road and sidewalk rehab saw upgrades to close to 41 lane kilometres of road and 2.5 kilometres of sidewalk; with the largest road project of the year being a three-kilometre stretch on Bellamy Rd., in the Hart. The City’s largest sidewalk operation was on Patricia Blvd. fro Queensway to Taylor Dr.

A release by the City of Prince George says that since 2014 the City has invested more than $40 million in the rehabilitation of 1,567 lane kilometres of road.
