Prince George RCMP say shots rang out just after 11:30 a.m. and police arrived on scene to locate a suspect vehicle which police pursued to 10th Avenue and McBride Crescent.

Once there, police arrested three individuals and seized their firearms. RCMP say the shooting led to the closure of DP Todd Secondary, Heritage Elementary and Duchess Park Secondary. School District 57 has confirmed all three have now reopened.

It was the second shooting in less than 12 hours on Bellos Street as police responded to a shots fired incident at around 12:30 this morning. None of the three adult occupants of the home were injured in that incident.

Update: According to School District 57, Duchess Park Secondary is now longer under hold and secure. DP Todd Secondary and Heritage Elementary remain under hold and secure.

Earlier: Prince George RCMP are dealing with an incident right now that’s forced Duchess Park Secondary, DP Todd Secondary and Heritage Elementary to close down in what is known as a hold and secure manoeuver says School District 57.

Police are not releasing details at this time but eyewitness accounts also note the emergency entrance to UHNBC has been blocked by police and there’s other officers stationed at 15th Avenue near Parkwood Mall.
