Safe driving in snowy conditions

PRINCE GEORGE – Now that the snow has fallen, the roads will be increasingly dangerous. The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) lists ways that drivers can be safer during the winter season.

Among those are to make sure to have winter tires, keeping an emergency kit and battery jumper cables. As well, drivers are reminded to slow down and to leave more following distance to prevent accidents.

Cpl. Donna Saunderson with the North District RCMP says, “give yourself some extra time, because, although the speed limit may say 60 km/hr that’s for ideal weather and road conditions.”
