PRINCE GEORGE –Update: According to Drive BC, Highway 16 has been cleared and traffic is moving again.

North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says a chip truck lost its load just after 5 a.m. this morning.

There were no injuries.

Prince George RCMP say there was also a single-vehicle rollover collision on Highway 16 near Norman Lake Road just before 7:30 a.m.

Cpl. Craig Douglass says the driver of the vehicle was trapped inside the small passenger vehicle and was rescued by the Beaverley Volunteer Fire Department.

The passenger was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and the highway reopened at about 8:30 a.m.

Prince George RCMP say the accidents should serve as reminders about driving conditions this time of year.

“Quick changes in temperatures can occur and different segments of roads can have different conditionsl,” says Douglass.
