Liberals were sworn in today
PRINCE GEORGE – With Cabinet sworn in yesterday and BC Liberal MLA’s sworn in today, the work of the Legislature will begin in earnest.
“As I look at the distribution of Cabinet, we’re going to have to work very hard as the Opposition to make sure that the voices and concerns of people outside the geography of the Cabinet are heard,” says Shirley Bond, Leader of the Opposition.
What she is referring to as the “geography of Cabinet” is the fact that of the 24 Cabinet Ministers and 13 Parliamentary Secretaries, only four are not from the Lower Mainland or Vancouver Island. And only two North of Hope. They are Jennifer Rice from the North Coast is now the Parliamentary Secretary for Emergency Preparedness and Nathan Cullen from Stikine is now the Minister of State for Lands and Natural Resource Operations.
