Close to 100 rally in Prince George to support Indian farmers

PRINCE GEORGE – There were close to 100 people and well over 50 cars gathered near CN Centre and drove off in a car rally to support Punjab farmers in India.

Rally participant T.J. Grewal says the recent agricultural legislation to come down from the Indian Government affects many local members of the Indian community who still have roots and families overseas.

“Some of us still have land there, some are leased, but many of the international students have families who are directly affected by the three bills that were passed by the Indian Government,” says Grewal.
