PG SAR help rescue stranded snowmobilers in the Cariboo

PRINCE GEORGE — It’s been a busy week-and-a-half for Prince George Search and Rescue (PGSAR).

Over those 11 days, PGSAR has assisted in three calls involving stranded snowmobilers, the most recent being on Tuesday when they assisted Central Cariboo Search and Rescue locate two stranded snowmobilers within the Likely area backcountry.

Prior to Tuesday, PG SAR Search Manager Dave Merritt says they assisted in the recovery following the fatal avalanche north of Mackenzie on November 29 which claimed the life of a 35-year-old Dawson Creek man.

And prior to that, he says PGSAR assisted in safely locating a man on November 22 in the Likely backcountry.
