PRINCE GEORGE – For the past five winters, two local volunteers have been feeding a local flock of ducks that spend their winters at Cottonwood Island Park.

This week Pacific Western Brewery helped their cause by donating three thousand pounds of grain to help the ducks survive the cold temperatures.

For the past few weeks, the ducks down at cottonwood have been surviving on the generosity of donors.

Pacific Western Brewing heard their story a few months ago and jumped on board to help out.

According to Pacific Western Brewing, they have a significant supply of malted barley on hand as it’s one of their key ingredients for making beer.

Volunteer duck feeder Brock Bailey is thankful for strong support from the community, but if anyone else would like to contribute, he would be grateful for any source of support.

People can reach out through Ducks Unlimited here in Prince George and they will pick up any donations that are made available or left at Spruce Capital Feeds.
