Family Day Adventure Cruise ready to roll out

Feb 14, 2021 | 10:02 AM

PRINCE GEORGE – Even though a pandemic has shifted BC Family Day celebrations compared to a year ago, there is still plenty of fun activities to enjoy safely with your whole family.

The Family Adventure Cruise is a free city-wide event, and runs 11am-4pm on February 15th.

Dave Horton and his team from Pandemic Friendly Entertainment have a number of different prizes to give away and have a number of activities to do it with, although those are being kept a secret, for now!

No registration is required, households are encouraged to download and follow the Adventure Card as it leads you on a quest to get as many (or as few) of the 25 activities completed as you can in 5 hours. The Adventure Card will be released on the Facebook event (found by clicking here) just before start time on Feb 15th.

Event organizers say they promise to keep you busy as you search for costumed Waldo’s, drive thru and get free food, play drive thru games, take photos with local landmarks and more.

Anyone who decides to take part is reminded to keep physical distancing from other households while completing challenges, drive safely at all times, wear a mask when in public areas and most of all have fun!

If anyone in your group/vehicle is sick or experiencing symptoms of Covid 19 please stay home and do not participate in the Family Day Adventure Cruise

The list of prizes is extensive, but includes a Nintendo Switch, an Xbox Series X, a Family downtown staycation, a VR family prize pack, and more!

All of the prizes have been donated, and cater to all age groups.

One of the organizers Dayna Penson says if you are thinking of donating to the cause, please consider local businesses who have chipped in to donate a number of prizes.

“If you would like to donate, please considerspending some money at a local business. This cruise is free and the cost to us is very minimal! The organizers planning it are proud of Prince George and their local businesses, and would love to see them thrive. So in short we would prefer your money be spent on a local business rather than a donation to this cruise. Thanks Prince George!”
