Pet adoptions up during COVID-19 pandemic

PRINCE GEORGE — With the COVID-19 pandemic restricting our ability to socially interact with others, many people have been focusing on pets to fill that void.

The SPCA confirms that adoptions of cats and dogs have increased during the pandemic as residents look for a furry friend to provide a source of comfort and companionship.

If you are looking to adopt a pet, the SPCA simply asks that you are sure you’re able to meet the commitment.

The Canadian Mental Health Association says pets can be a great source of comfort and can also provide a sense of purpose.
