PRINCE GEORGE – Each year, millions of litres of oil are collected and managed across the province, including here in the Prince George area.

BC Used Oil Management Association has recognized the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George and Jepson Petroleum as part of the top 30 collectors of used oil and antifreeze materials in BC.

The used oil collector station, located at the Foothills Landfill, is operated by the Regional District. It is known to collect close to 50 thousand litres of oil each year.

Used oil can be cleaned and used over and over. Jepson Petroleum has used oil collection stations across the central interior, providing residents with more convenient locations to recycle.

Used oil can be refined into new lubricating oil or sold as raw material for manufacturing or energy products.

Over 50 million litres of used oil is collected each year in BC.

Both motor oil and antifreeze products can be recycled at no cost at any of 300 Return Collection Facilities across the province.
