PRINCE GEORGE – Forestry has long been a big part of the economy in this region. However, some people believe we haven’t done an excellent job at protecting this resource.

This prompted a large rally downtown today, advocating for the government to protect old-growth forests.

Dozens gathered at Wood Innovation Square to listen to speakers concerned about what they believe is a lack of attention to old-growth forests.

According to event organizers, BC has just three per cent of old-growth forest left standing.

Conservation North has been doing public outreach for close to three years and is pleased with the number of people who came and supported its rally.
