Easter Cruise offers family fun

PRINCE GEORGE — A pandemic-friendly event has been organized for this Saturday.

Organizers of the Easter Cruise say 25 activities will be spread out across town, ranging from a candy drive thru, to searching parks for costumed volunteers and exploring Prince George for selfies.

Over 40 organizations and individuals have come together to make it happen.

“This past year has shown that we cannot slow down in serving our community. The most recent lockdown measures are needed but take a toll on the mental health of our people. This event is aimed at students, families and those most impacted by the pandemic,” says Dave Horton who organized Candy Cruise Prince George, the Family Day Adventure Cruise and many other events.

“Let’s get outside for a day to explore, eat candy, win prizes and build some memories so when we look back at the pandemic some positive experiences come to mind.”

Organizers say that everyone can take part with over half the activities being accessible on foot. Locations have been organized so that if you plan your trip well they can be done in a long line. You can take the bus, ride a bike, walk or drive around to get the photos needed to complete activities. Once the event is over you enter your photos on Instagram or Facebook with the #pgeggcellentcruise for a chance to win prizes.

The EGGcellent Card that has the list of 25 activities will be released just before 11am on April 3rd so that many of the activities can be kept secret to prevent anyone from getting a head start.
