Spruce Kings reveal roster ahead of 20-game pod season in Chilliwack

PRINCE GEORGE โ€“ Since Tuesday night, the Prince George Spruce Kings have been down in Chilliwack readying for their 20-game season.

Prince George joins the Chiefs and Merritt Centennials in one of five pods across the BCHL, beginning their season on Saturday, April 3rd against the Chilliwack Chiefs. Theyโ€™ll then be back in action the following day against the Centennials.

As for the roster, the Spruce Kings have gradually been announcing their squad by positional groups over social media.

Setting up between the pipes, the Spruce Kings will have a trio of netminders on their roster. Kobe Grant is the newest member of the goaltending squad. Fort St John product Jordan Fairlie enters his first season with the Spruce Kings โ€“ he went 2-1 in exhibition play last fall. And Aaron Trotter, also in his first season with the team, sported a 1.52 goals-against average in exhibition play.

Eight players making up the defensive unit set to patrol the blueline. Captain Mason Waite and Assistant Colton Cameron will be joined by 2nd year Amran Bhabra and Zach Gabruch, as well as final year Tanner Main. Newcomers Josh Wright, Connor Elliott, Ben LeFranc round out the group.

When it comes to those providing the offensive punch for the Spruce Kings, the roster will have 13 forwards. Of those, Andrew Seaman and Prince Georgeโ€™s own Corey Cunningham will likely be those leading the surge in the offensive zone.
