PRINCE GEORGE – The city’s most popular recreation site was targeted by vandals.

Late last week, someone used a chainsaw and ATV to access an area through the Pidherney recreation site upper parking lot.

The main entrance to the Piderhery recreation site is located just off Foothill Boulevard, minutes from downtown.

The bike trails are volunteer maintained. Mischief acts can sometimes drain the efforts of those who support the park.

The bike trails are designed for mountain bike riders and walkers.

According to Pidherny Director Devon Budd, the vandals cut through two wooden fences and moved large, heavy boulders to gain access.

The mountain bike trails and facilities are maintained by community partnership agreements with safety in mind.
