Update: Suspicious incident involving child near local school

PRINCE GEORGE — Update: The Prince George RCMP have identified the driver of the tan coloured vehicle.

Cst. Jennifer Cooper says the driver of the vehicle knows the youth but in this instance, the youth did not recognize the familiar face out of context.

The RCMP would like to thank the public for their help in sharing the information.

Earlier: Local Mounties are looking for witnesses to a suspicious incident near Van Bien Elementary School yesterday (April 19).

RCMP say between 2:30 and 3 p.m. yesterday afternoon a young child reported that a tan coloured vehicle with tinted windows approached him and attempted to get him inside his vehicle on the 300 block of Wilson Crescent.

The child said when an older student offered to walk him home, the vehicle drove away.
