New travel restrictions in place
PRINCE GEORGE – “Disappointed.” That’s how Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth described his reaction to having to impose travel restrictions on residents, effective immediately until May 25.
The restrictions limit travel within a health region. They are predominantly targeting the Lower Mainland, where new case counts for COVID-19 stay stubbornly high. For the North, the “region” in question combines Northern Health and Interior Health, which includes Kamloops and Kelowna.
However, Farnworth still discourages travel, regardless of how large the region may be.
