Another dip in the jobless rate for Prince George

PG bucks the jobless trend once again

PRINCE GEORGE- A dip in the jobless numbers for Prince George last month, down to 5.5 percent from 5.9 percent in March , despite the hit rising COVID cases and renewed public health restrictions had on the both the regional and national unemployment fronts.

BC witnessed its first decrease in employment since a historic plunge in the labour market in April 2020. The regional rate cinched up to 7.1 percent in April from 6.9 percent the previous month .

The national unemployment rate rose to 8.1 per cent last month from 7.5 per cent in March ,as the economy lost 207,000 jobs .
