PRINCE GEORGE–There’s a new community market opening next week that has the space to hold more than 100 vendors.

The Pineview Recreation Commission is opening up its first community market on June 6th, located on Bendixon road. 10 vendors have already been approved and the commission says there have been more than 30 applications for a spot.

The market is open to all types of vendors. Right now they have meat, crafts, and food vendors. In the future, they’re hoping to bring in petting zoos.

They’re also allowing people under the age of 18 to apply for a spot and they won’t have to pay the vendor fee.

“We call it a community market because we want to be inclusive of the whole community, everybody’s selling everything. Some people have pointed out that because we’re allowing certain things in, it’s not a farmer’s market, but that’s sort’ve what wasn’t our intention to have a farmer’s market, it was an inclusive community market that we wanted.” said Jodi Hawkins, administrator at Pineview Recreation Commission.
