PRINCE GEORGE – Monday marked the last day of the third annual Colour Walk, organized by The Prince George Hospice Society.

Mrs. Doucette’s Brave Bronchos, from Buckhorn Elementary School, was the top fundraising team. They raised $4,000 and walked seven hundred and twenty-three kilometres for a total of 3615 laps as a class.

The team was made up of grades one, two and three students lead by Mrs Nicole Doucette.

As a class, they celebrated each weekly milestone and ended off the fundraiser with their own Colour Powder Celebration on Monday afternoon.

The Prince George Hospice Society provides end-of-life care for people who are in the final stages of their life. The hospice hosts many fundraising events throughout the year, like the colour walk, to support their services and needs.

This year it is estimated that the Colour Walk raised $45,000, they had a goal of $30,000.
