Ticket sales soaring ahead of record $70m Lotto Max jackpot

PRINCE GEORGE – It’s a big number, $70 million could be won on Friday night as part of a record lottery jackpot, the highest in Canadian history.

The biggest sum ever won in BC was a $60 million prize won back in July 2019, which was also a Lotto Max win.

According to the BC Lottery Corporation, if you win the bundle of the bucks you could see it in your bank account within a week.

The PGI Market on 5th says they’ve sold more tickets recently to customers who don’t usually buy them.

“Oh we’ve definitely had to walk a lot more people through their options when buying a ticket, but overall it’s good,” says Matt Sarabyn, a cashier at the store. “Hopefully someone in Prince George wins!”

According to BCLC, it is not abnormal to see a jackpot spike even quicker as the numbers get higher.

Friday’s Lotto Max jackpot is an estimated $70 million, with 50 additional max million-dollar prices.

Know your limit, play within it.
