Local Business lends a helping hand

PRINCE GEORGE – Ricochet Auto Films has opened its doors and now its hearts to a local rescue that has been struggling through the pandemic.

Luv 4 Paws Northern Animal Rescue, has been struggling since the pandemic began. They rely heavily on fundraising and donations and for the past 16 months, they haven’t been able to host any events. That’s where Kaleigh & Larry Weibe come in.

About a week ago, they reached out to the rescue to ask how they could help. With their new business only in its infancy stage, they knew they couldn’t donate directly, so they created a GoFundMe in an effort to try and help.

“We saw their post on Instagram and it breaks my heart. We don’t have a lot of capital which is why we just can’t simply donate, that’s why we decided to go with the GoFundMe because if there is anything we can do, we wanna do it,” said Kaleigh Weibe, co-owner of Ricochet Auto Films

Andrea Sowers is the founder of Luv 4 Paws Northern Animal Rescue, she says she’s incredibly thankful for the selflessness they have shown. Luv 4 Paws is a unique rescue, they save animals as well as act as a conduit for folks living in the north, to get them access to Vets which is often non-existent in rural areas of northern B.C.

“They reached out to us saying they wanted to make a difference in their community and for me that’s everything,” said Andrea Sowers, owner of Luv 4 Paws. “The kindness and concern for animals that come from these two is incredible.”

Once restrictions lift, Andrea says there will be more fundraising efforts. In the meantime, if you are interested in donating, there are many ways to do so. They have an account set up at the bottle depot as well as an Amazon wish list, which you can find on their Facebook Page.
