Overdose Warning issued for PG

PRINCE GEORGE – Northern Health has issued an overdose warning for Prince George, with more front-line workers noticing more overdose deaths than usual. They are attributing the overdoses to a drug called “down” or fentanyl,” which is dark purple in colour but cooks to nearly black colour.

Northern Health says there are a number of measures users should take. They include carrying naloxone in the event of overdose and never using alone. Use in an OPS if possible, such as the Needle Exchange or Two Doors Down.
