Safety risks that you should know before heading towards water this weekend.
PRINCE GEORGE – It is going to be one scorcher of a weekend and no doubt a lot of people will be heading towards the water to cool down. With that, there are many safety risks that swimmers and boaters should be aware of.
“We’ll be seeing some high elevation snow and glacier melts which will have rivers flowing faster. Keep in mind, if you are looking to jump into a lake or river the water will be moving pretty fast,” said Meteorologist from Environment Canada Bobby Sekhon.
This time of year, water temperatures are also much cooler than outside temperatures which can be dangerous.
