City and RD keeping an eye on two threats
PRINCE GEORGE – Following a thunderstorm across the province, which resulted in 41,000 lightning strikes, local governments are on high alert. But, in this region, there is a double threat.
“We’re actively monitoring right now for both flood events and wildfire,” says Renee McCloskey with the Regional District of Fraser Fort George. “And they’re both the result of this extreme heatwave that we’re dealing with.”
The BC River Forecast Centre has the entire regional district under a flood warning.
