GO FOR GREEN WEEK

REAPS hosting free kids craft activities for ‘Go for Green Week’

PRINCE GEORGE–It’s ‘Go for Green Week’ at REAPS and the recycling society is inviting kids to come out and take part in free arts and crafts activities.

Every day this week from 2PM to 4PM, kids can come and take part in the activities while being supervised by parents.

The purpose is to help kids learn about the environment and how they can make a difference.

Kids will use everyday recyclables and find ways to turn them into crafts. REAPS says this is also an opportunity for parents to ask about what else can be recycled at home and to also repair broken items instead of buying new ones.

“It could be anything from an old CD, to a toilet paper roll, to paper. It could be box board, like a cereal box, or a Kleenex box. It could be leftover wrapping paper, it could be pipe cleaners, it could be googly eyes, who knows? We get so many things donated to us and then we collect and save all our trash to ourselves and create things with it.” said Terri McClymont, Executive Director, REAPS.
