Falcon pays PG a visit
PRINCE GEORGE – It is the first visit of any of the BC Liberal leadership hopefuls to the City. Kevin Falcon is one of five candidates running to become the new BC Liberal leader. The BC Liberals had one of their worst outcomes during the last election.
“It’s one of the reasons I’m coming back. Because I want to rebuild, re-brand and re-energize the BC Liberal Party. Everything from potentially a new name to making sure we have a big tent that we get young people involved, we get a bunch of diverse candidates who are selected because they’re great people and great candidates, not like the NDP quota system.”
Prince George currently has two ridings, Prince George-Mackenzie and Prince George-Valemount. But prior to 2009, there were three as Prince George was part of the Prince George-Omineca riding. The previous Liberal government made changes to the Electoral Boundaries Commission Act to ensure, with adjustments to ridings, no reduction of seats could be considered in the Cariboo-Thompson, Columbia-Kootenay or North regions of the province.
