Psychological horror film to begin shooting in Prince George next month

PRINCE GEORGE–There’s another movie project that’s going to be filmed here in Prince George. Unlike the last movie filmed here in the city being a romantic comedy, this one will be a psychological horror movie.

The movie is called Within the Grip. It’s a story about one sister’s fight to save her older sister from a monster’s grip. The socio-cultural message of the film is particularly timely aimed at leaving audiences to reflect on particular dangers youth relentlessly face in today’s world.

Vancouver based Black Moon Media will be partnering with Prince George’s Barker Street Cinema to shoot the movie.

It’s the 3rd film that has been shot in Prince George this year.

Producer Norm Coyne says filming starts in late August and there’s already casting calls right now on the Barker Street Cinema website.

“I actually don’t think there’s anything like this out there…it’s so unique and so different. That’s the kind of project you want to be a part of. It’s something that isn’t comparable to anything else or is breaking new ground.” said Coyne.
