PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George RCMP has launched an impaired driving investigation following a two-vehicle crash.

As CKPG Today reported yesterday, it happened at around 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Highway 16 and 20th Avenue.

Cst. Jennifer Cooper says police arrived on scene to learn that one of the vehicles was an unmarked police car with a police officer and one mental health nurse inside. The car belongs to the Car 60 program, which operates in partnership with the Prince George RCMP and Northern Health.

“Thankfully, no one suffered serious injury in the collision. The Mental Health Nurse and the Police Officer went to hospital for assessment of their injuries. The driver of the second vehicle was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition for impairment by drugs and was released without further process, pending the full results of the investigation.
