242 wildfires burning in B.C., including 50 in the PG Fire Centre
PRINCE GEORGE — The provincial government has provided an update on the number of fires burning in British Columbia. Right now there are 242 active fires in B.C. with 50 of them in the Prince George Fire Centre.
The Cariboo Fire Centre has 39 active fires. The Kamloops Fire Centre has the highest amount of active flames with 79.
There have been 1,254 wildfires to date with 462,959 hectares burned.
2,120 Wildfire Service members and 1,092 B.C. contractors are helping with the flames, with 199 from out-of-province.
