PRINCE GEORGE– It’s oftentimes the pivotal point in an election campaign for voters. The Federal Debate.

Tonight at 6 pm the party leaders will face off on television for the last time before general voting day on September 20th. However, a big question that circulates every election is “Does the debate influence voters?”

Doug Jarvis a political expert at UNBC seems to think it might have an effect on the polls.

“Will it sway voters who are already deadest on a candidate? Probably not, however for those who are still undecided on who they’re going to vote for, tonight might be pivotal. -Doug Jarvis UNBC professor

Jarvis also says that this debate can also help leaders influence voters with the pandemic currently ongoing and social situations at an all-time high.

Here in Prince George voters are still undecided if they are going to tune in tonight, as well as if it will sway their vote however a poll on ckpgtoday.ca shows most residents won’t be influenced tonight.
