PRINCE GEORGE – Each year, millions of birds are killed by domestic cats. A preliminary UNBC study indicates more birds could survive if cats wore large coloured collars.

According to researchers, these coloured, high-visibility collars are designed for outdoor cats. Researchers believe birds can see the colours from the attacking cat and avoid capture.

To make the study more conclusive, Doctor Ken Otter would like to continue the study next summer with 40 cat owners.
