PRINCE GEORGE – Small business accounts for more than 90 percent of all businesses in the province. and soon, they will be obliged to provide paid sick leave for their employers. But whether it is three days, five days or ten days has yet to be determined and both employers and employees have until October 25th to let the government know what they think.

The local Chamber of Commerce says this is another burden on small businesses.

“It could be very challenging at a time when we’re already seeing issues finding talent, putting sick leaves on top EHT other new taxes and fees, small business is being tremendously burdened at a time when burdening employers is probably the worst thing that we could be doing,” says Todd Corrigall, CEO for the Prince George Chamber.
